Preparing to Work With One of Our Designers

If you are looking for a fresh new redesigned home, there is no better way to go than using one of the Baer’s complimentary personal interior designers. From keeping up with the trends, new design insight and great planning, our designers work as magicians, creating luxurious designs that you probably thought were not even possible. But before you sit down and enjoy the finished product, there are several things you must do to prepare.

Create Your Vision

An interior designer will help create your room, but they can’t do it without your vision first. It is your room they are designing, so they need to know what design and look you are expecting. Your design concept could be a little cloudy, but your design intentions could be clear. The designer’s job is to help your vision come to life!

Janet Graham, one of Baer’s expert interior designers based in our Naples location, couldn’t agree more, “I consult with so many people who have a vision in their mind, but can’t seem to find the right pieces to make it all come together. My best advice for shoppers is to answer any questions we ask openly and honestly.” Keeping an open-mind and knowing that our designers are there to help you will be key to making your experience the best it can be.

Set Your Goals

There are two separate goals you should have when working with an interior designer. No matter what happens, you want to be satisfied with the look of your room and your design goal should be met within your budget.

You should utilize a Baer’s interior designer to attain a certain look in your home. It should be both your goal and your designer’s to create the stylish ambiance you envision in your mind and at the end of the process put a smile on your face. Graham states, “My job is to create that custom look for their home that they want to show off to their friends and family.” In other words, be direct about what you want to see when your design is complete.

Your second goal is a personal one, your budget, and should be predetermined when you meet with your designer. Setting your financial budget is just as important as deciding on the look you want to achieve. If you are on a budget, this will help the designer in knowing beforehand what pieces they should show you and which not to. It’s a topic everybody usually avoids, but one that is crucial in choosing how the look of your room will be completed. “Knowing how much my client is willing to spend allows me to suggest pieces that I know will fit into both their style and budget,” says Graham. Though a budget may seem like a restriction, it’s actually a chance for the designer to have some fun and think of outside the box ideas to accomplish your look.
