Origin and Materials

When we say antiques from around the world we mean it. Our antiques originate from various regions, but predominantly come from Southeast Asia. Because of the age and origins of the pieces the materials used in their construction varies. The wood is broken down into two categories softwood and hardwood. The softwood features many variations from Jumu to Baimu each wood has a unique set of traits and uses. The hardwood is less varied but features woods such as Zitan and Jichimu which is also called chickenwood. The variety in material and age means no two pieces are the same and offer a unique design element each time.

Quality and Authenticity

We hand select all our pieces to ensure you get nothing but the best antiques. Working closely with our buyers we are always making sure each piece is as authentic as the day it was made. We are careful not to restore pieces, but rather refinish each piece to accent their natural beauty. Each piece features its original hardware to leave the piece’s original splendor. Beyond that our pieces are not refinished in a way that would remove any of the original or natural appearance of the antiques.

Living With Antiques

Many people think antique furniture is just for show and should never be used. While antiques do need a bit more care than modern replicas most antiques can still be used like any other furniture. Our console tables can still be used to both accent a room and stage smaller accent pieces. Our trunks can still be utilized to store items without losing its elegant charm. Beyond just use the care that needs to be given to antiques is no different than that of modern furniture. Antiques should avoid direct sunlight and needed just modest cleaning and kept out of too humid or too dry places.
